Limits and errors

How tool calls count against your plan, and what each error message means.

Request limits

Every MCP tool call counts as one API request. MCP tool calls and REST API requests share the same limit. The limit applies to the organization that the tool acts on.

Your plan sets the number of requests per minute:

Plan Requests per minute
Free No API access
Base 60
Pro 120

When the organization reaches the limit, the server rejects the request until the minute ends. The REST API returns status 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header.

The plan limits also apply to the MCP server. For example, a tool cannot create a link when the organization has reached the maximum number of links for its plan.

Errors

When a tool call fails, the server returns an error message to your assistant. The assistant usually explains the error to you.
